Preventative waterproofing prevents water from penetrating into a structure through poured joints, pipe penetrations, joints, connections of prefab concrete elements.
Due to shrinkage and poor adhesion of the freshly poured concrete to the hardened concrete, these are the weak points in the construction.
Spetec® has a full range of preventative waterproofing products. Both bentonite or synthetically based hydrophilic solutions and injectable injection hoses. These are used DURING construction to PREVENT potential leaks.
Prevention is still better than cure.
By remedial waterproofing we mean all actions that are taken to stop invading water in and through constructions. Both along the positive and on the negative side of the structure. The curative methods apply when no preventative measures have been taken. If the preventative measures were not sufficient due to causes that could not have been foreseen during the construction of the structure.
